Former footballer Wasserfall finds fulfilment in port work

Three-time Namibian Premier League winner Celestinus Wasserfall, who played for Chief Santos, Blue Waters and Orlando Pirates, has spent the past 15 years working as a heavy equipment operator at Namibian Ports Authority after a knee injury ended his playing career. Despite not realising his ambition to play professional football in Germany, Wasserfall says he is content with his secure job and life after football.

  1. Namibia rebuilds squad for friendly tournament in Kazakhstan

    Following their 2026 World Cup qualification miss, Namibia's Brave Warriors have entered a restructuring phase, with more than 10 new local-based players called up ahead of a four-nation Fifa Friendly tournament in Kazakhstan next month where they face Kuwait, Kazakhstan, and Comoros. Coach Collin Benjamin says the team is starting anew with inexperienced players while balancing some experienced ones, and will later consider foreign-based players if they can add value.
