Illegal mopane tree harvesting threatens forest resources in Oshana and Omusati
Officials in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism have raised concerns about illegal harvesting of mopane trees for firewood in parts of the Oshana and Omusati regions, particularly in Uuvudhiya and Otamanzi constituencies, warning that the complete uprooting of live trees severely damages forest conservation and sustainable natural resource management.
