  1. Namibian learners win German trips at annual language competition

    The Goethe-Institut Namibia's annual German Language Competition saw 39 learners from 21 schools compete, with two winners awarded three-week trips to Germany and others receiving laptops and headsets. The competition, organised with the German-Namibian Society, has run for nearly 40 years to promote German language learning among Grade 10 and 11 students.

    Two Grade 10–11 students won three-week trips to Germany after competing in the Goethe-Institut Namibia Language Competition on 28 March, which drew 39 pupils from 21 schools to test their German-language speaking skills. Organisers say German proficiency opens doors to vocational training and university studies in Europe, and the strong turnout reflects young Namibians' view of the language as a professional opportunity.

  1. Career Fair 2026 launches across Namibia in February

    The Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut and German Embassy, will host Career Fair 2026 from 26–28 February, bringing together nearly 50 companies, universities, and organisations from Namibia, South Africa, and Germany to guide young Namibians on education and career opportunities locally and abroad. The event will also include a roadshow to schools in Otjiwarongo, Tsumeb, and Swakopmund.
