  1. Businessman sues accuser for N$300,000 over rape claim

    Businessman Mathews Hamutenya is suing a Windhoek resident for N$300,000, alleging she falsely accused him of rape from 2006 and defamed him. The Office of the Prosecutor General declined to prosecute him in December 2024 after investigation of the complaint she filed in August 2024.

  1. Couple jailed for N$9.98 million fraud and theft scheme

    Amanda Jantjies and her husband Barnard Jantjies were sentenced to 14 and nine years' effective imprisonment respectively in the Windhoek High Court after admitting guilt on more than 1,700 charges of fraud, theft, and money laundering totalling N$9.98 million. Amanda, a bookkeeper for bus service Ekonolux, defrauded her employer between January 2014 and November 2018 by making unauthorised payments to her own account and her husband's close corporation.

  1. Woman charged with N$4m theft from deceased estates denies guilt

    Martha Dobberstein (78) pleaded not guilty to one count of money laundering and seven charges of theft in Windhoek Magistrate's Court. She is accused of stealing more than N$4 million from deceased estates of which she had been appointed as administrator, with thefts alleged between October 2022 and December 2025.

  1. Couple pleads guilty to N$9.9 million fraud from bus service

    Amanda and Barnard Jantjies admitted guilt to over 800 charges each of fraud, theft, and money laundering involving close to N$10 million stolen from bus service Ekonolux between 2014 and 2018. Amanda, employed as a bookkeeper, made fraudulent payments from Ekonolux accounts to personal and business accounts under false pretences of supplier and client payments.

    Windhoek High Court Judge Claudia Claasen acquitted Adam Isaack of murdering Eldin Fransman in 2019, finding the State's case rife with contradictions and unreliable witness testimony, with no eyewitnesses or forensic evidence linking him to the fatal stabbing. The judge noted that another State witness, Beneg Jossop, who owned the knife used in the killing, had provided inconsistent accounts of his location during the incident.

  1. Murder-accused claims rival falsely framed him for Mariental killing

    Adam Isaack (29) pleaded not guilty to murdering Eldin Sylwester Fransman near Gibeon in June 2019, claiming another man, Beneg Jossop, was the actual stabber and has maliciously influenced witnesses to testify against him. Jossop, testifying for the State, countered that Isaack demanded his knife to rob the group of alcohol, resulting in the fatal stabbing.
