Namibian economy grows to 2.0% in first quarter 2026
During the first quarter of 2026, Namibia's domestic economic activity picked up to 2.0% growth from 0.1% in the final quarter of 2025, marking the eighteenth consecutive positive quarterly value since the second quarter of 2021. Growth was driven by tertiary industries including wholesale and retail trade, financial services, health, education, and public administration, along with strong agricultural performance supported by favourable rainfall and brisk fishing activity, though mining weakened and manufacturing contracted.
