Trump threatens EU NATO members with tariffs over Greenland
US President Donald Trump has threatened Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland with tariffs starting at 10% from 1 February, rising to 25% on 1 June 2026, until they agree to sell Greenland to the United States. Trump cited the mineral-rich Arctic territory's strategic importance and accused the nations of creating unacceptable risk to global peace and security.
