Kharas police propose no bail for fatal traffic offences
The ||Kharas deputy commissioner has proposed denying bail to traffic law offenders who cause fatal accidents and increasing fines for serious traffic violations from N$4,000 to N$8,000, citing drink-driving as a major contributor to road deaths. The regional governor meanwhile criticized local authorities for spending only about N$12.36 million of a N$29.66 million road maintenance budget.
