Despite the dominant victory in challenging conditions, Coetzee said he did not race at full capacity and plans to pursue the longer Rhino Run in October rather than defend his title.

Fellow Namibian Pierre Lambert finished third, about 280km behind Coetzee's winning time, after challenging weather conditions including rain, mud and strong headwinds throughout the event.
