The Ministry of Works and Transport upgraded and completed 210 kilometres of railway infrastructure during the 2025/26 financial year as part of efforts to upgrade, construct, maintain and modernise the national railway network through TransNamib. Progress was also recorded on multiple rail projects including the Kranzberg–Otjiwarongo upgrade, where 16,300 tonnes of rails and 48 turnouts were delivered representing 40% completion of Lot 1.

Africa Online and Radio Electronic have signed a letter of intent to explore using OneWeb low Earth orbit satellite technology to improve connectivity in Namibia's rural and remote areas. The Namibian Competition Commission has initiated a formal investigation into fishing vessel owners and operators for allegedly imposing unfair purchase prices when negotiating quota usage fees with fishing rights holders without vessels in the Horse Mackerel sub-sector.
