Bail hearing resumes for man accused of bar shooting death

The News

Gabes Shiimi (30) is set to have his formal bail application heard in April in connection with the death of Nande Simon Molukoski at a Windhoek bar on 15 June last year. Shiimi faces charges of murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm; according to State allegations, he was involved in a fight at the bar, left and returned with a gun, fired multiple rounds, and a stray bullet from this shooting killed Molukoski.

  1. Elisenheim woman denies bail in murder and attempted murder case

    Andrea Feris, 46, was denied bail after appearing in Katutura Magistrate's Court on a charge of fatally stabbing her brother-in-law, 40-year-old Abré Maasdorp, and injuring her husband, 45-year-old Granville Maasdorp, in an altercation at their Elisenheim home on Sunday. The magistrate cited the seriousness of the offence, public interest, and pending witness statements in denying bail; the case was postponed to 4 June 2026 for further investigation.

  1. Former Agriculture Minister Hengari transferred to trial for bribery

    Magistrate Immanuel Udjombala has transferred the bribery case of former Minister Dr McAlbert Hengari to the regional court at Katutura Magistrate's Court, with trial set for 23 April 2026. Hengari and a co-accused were arrested in April 2025 after allegedly attempting to offer a bribe of N$220,000 to a woman who accused him of rape in 2019.

  1. Man charged with murder over N$30 bar entrance dispute

    A 30-year-old Windhoek resident, Asser Pendapala Nendongo, has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting bar bouncer David Mbida point blank over a N$30 entrance fee. Mbida died at a local hospital following the shooting incident on Friday night; the suspect later handed himself over to police.

  2. Windhoek man charged with fatal bar shooting appears in court

    Asser Nendongo appeared in Katutura Magistrate's Court on a murder charge in connection with the death of Windhoek bouncer David Mbinda, who was shot during an altercation over an entrance fee dispute at a bar in Wanaheda last Friday night. The case was postponed to 18 March for a formal bail application and to 21 May for further police investigations.
