Thousands gathered to pay respects to late Ondangwa regional control prosecutor Justine Ndapandula Shiweda, who died on 7 February 2026 from injuries sustained in a violent attack in October 2025. The bail application of Dr. Fillemon Nakanduungile, arrested in November on charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a shooting and acid attack on State prosecutor Justine Shiweda, stalled after Magistrate Siegfried Geiseb recused himself citing a conflict of interest. Seven other co-accused arrested in the same incident remain in custody.
