Government flats mismanaged as bars, salons and shacks
Government flats have been mismanaged, with tenants using rooms as barbershops, bars, cash loan services, and converting balconies into informal shacks. Works and transport minister Veikko Nekundi has ordered the interim board of the Public Assets Management Agency of Namibia to improve oversight and turn non-service-delivery assets into profitable properties, requiring retired tenants to vacate within 30 days and settle municipal bills.
