Namibia formally supports accession to seabird conservation treaty

Namibia announced formal support for accession to the Agreement on the Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels following the 15th Meeting of ACAP's Advisory Committee hosted in Swakopmund in June 2026. The country has achieved 98% reduction in seabird bycatch in demersal longline fishery and 95% in demersal trawl fishery through its National Plan of Action for Seabirds.
